Google Assistant Shazam
We’ve all been using Shazam for years to figure out what song is playing at our local bar. Now you can get the same experience right in Google. This week Google added a new music lookup feature to. But with the release of Google Pixel 3, the ability was provided to Google Assistant. Now, all you have to ask Google Assistant to “Identify this song”. It goes into listening mode and will help you identify the song currently being played. It kind of works like Shazam and the results are really good.
Google is always investing in news so that its users have access to more and more resources. On Android, in turn, a large part of this investment has gone to Google Assistant, which performs some tasks that are not always widely publicized.
One of them is precisely the Sound Search, a feature for identifying songs from the Google Assistant and which has undergone improvements, according to the Olhar Digital showed earlier. It works similarly to the Soundhound and Shazam apps, with the difference that it does not need to be installed. Here's how to identify a song using the Google Assistant:
- Press and hold the 'Home' button until 'Google Assistant' appears and ask him 'What song is this?';
- Move the phone closer to where the sound is coming from and see the result.
Note that in the result screen, you have partial access to the lyrics and some extra information about the artist. However, if what you've been looking for is on Google Play Music, a link is made available to the service, both to see the full lyrics, as well as to buy the song or album it is part of.
In cases where the song is not in the Google Play collection, when you click on it, you are redirected to Google to get more information about it. Finally, if YouTube has any popular videos about the song, you can play it for them.
Now, you already know how to find out which song is playing with Android. And the best, without having to install an application for this.
